You can buy your child’s school uniforms two ways:

Goethe approved logowear is available for online and phone order. Please enter GICS’ preferred school number: 900138215 in order to access our customized website for Lands’ End. Once you have done so, you will only see items and colors approved by our school's policy and the correct logo for embroidery can be added for polos, jackets and cardigans. The school earns up to 3% of all uniform purchases made at Lands’ End.

In conjunction with the uniform program, the school is also selling Lands’ End Scrip cards, which can be used on-line, via phone or at any Lands’ End or Sears store. The school will earn 16% of each gift card it sells. These gift cards do not expire and can be used to purchase anything from the on-line or retail store (not just uniforms). UNIFORM FAQ

What may boys wear to school?

Bottoms: Navy blue shorts or pants that fit at the waist .Cargo pants, baggy pants, and jeans are not permitted.

Tops: Red or light blue polo shirts or light blue Oxford style shirts (with embroidered Goethe logo) Long ties are optional with the Oxford shirts.

What may girls wear to school?

Bottoms:Navy blue or (Manhattan) plaid skorts or skirts or navy blue shorts or pants that fit at waist. Skirts and skorts should be no higher than three inches above the knee. Bike shorts should be worn under skirts to ensure modesty.

Tops: Red or light blue polo shirts or light blue Oxford style blouses (with embroidered logo). Long ties are optional with the Oxford blouses. Alternatively, a navy blue jumper dress with embroidered Goethe logo can be worn. A white or blue turtleneck or a Goethe polo must be worn underneath the jumperdress.

What outerwear options are permissible?

Boys and Girls must wear either a navy blue zippered hooded sweatshirt, navy blue fleece jacket, or heavier navy blue Timberline jacket (all with embroidered logo). A new, warm rain parka was added to our collection this year, as a jacket choice, however please see "cold weather and rainy days" question.

Are caps and hats allowed?

Only navy blue, Goethe logo embroidered hats are allowed, either a baseball cap or bucket hat style. They can be purchased through the Goethe shop order or at Goethe events several times a year. Note that caps and hats may only be worn outside the classroom.

Are shirts to be tucked in?

Yes, it is preferred that all shirts be tucked in.

Are belts required?

No.

What type of footwear is appropriate?

Any athletic shoe or other rubber soled shoe is permissible with the preferred colors being black, white or navy. For safety reasons all shoes must be closed toed. The school would prefer that closed toed CROCS-style clogs are not worn on campus as they are accident prone. Slippers of any kind are not permitted!

What sock colors are permitted?
Any.

Are non logo heavy jackets permitted in very cold weather?

No. White or navy blue turtlenecks or long sleeve undershirts can be worn under the polos or oxford shirts in extremely cold weather, in conjunction with one of the four jacket options currently available. Long sleeve polos and oxfords are also available.

What about rainy days?

On rainy days non-logo raingear is permitted on top of one of the logowear outerwear options. While the new collection provides a heavy rain jacket with logo, parents are not required to buy this jacket, the non-logo raingear will suffice.

What items must be purchased through Michael's uniforms or Lands’ End, and what may be purchased elsewhere?

All logo items must be purchased through either Lands’ End or Michael’s Uniforms. Any Manhattan plaid skirts and skorts must be purchased through Michael's uniforms.

All navy blue pants, shorts, skirts and skorts can be purchased at the uniform retailer of your choice as long as they meet school uniform requirements (fit at waist, no insignias, no cargo, no denim, no sweatpants or yoga pants - just traditional uniform pants, shorts, skirts or skorts). The following retailers have school uniforms shops on their websites: Gymboree, Children's Place, Lands’ End, Target, Old Navy, JC Penny.

Is there a sweater option?

Yes, there is! Lands’ End offers  knitted cardigans in two styles to our uniforms.

What clothing will the students wear for PE?

Students will remain in their school uniforms for PE class.
