Ways to Give

Goethe International Charter School (GICS) is a Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) authorized independent charter school. We are fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, and authorized to deliver the International Baccalaureate Primary Years and Middle Years Programmes to our more than 400 students. Our school has achieved California Distinguished and California Gold Ribbon as well as the California Green Ribbon status.

We have accomplished these accolades while receiving less funding than regular neighborhood schools. Charter schools also rarely have access to local school bonds or parcel taxes that benefit traditional schools. Goethe International Charter School relies on fundraising to close this funding gap.

Our biggest three annual fundraisers are the Pledge Drive, the Gala and Silent Auction and the Jog-a-thon. As a community we always strive to reach an outstanding monetary result. More importantly, we encourage every family to contribute in order to reach our 100% participation goal. We welcome gifts at whatever level you are able to donate. Please also ask your employer if a matching gift program is offered.

Every year, funds raised in previous years are invested in better educational support for our students. As an example, your dollars turn into Instructional Assistants, Language and IB Coordinators, and additional teachers for the German Language Acquisition Option. Your donations help purchase additional learning materials and support various programs for our students. Your gift is essential in providing the truly rich educational opportunities our children deserve.
