2026-27 school year registration begins after the placement lottery on February 3, 2026.
Registration By Invitation Only
Following the annual placement lottery, all families not waitlisted receive an invitation to register through SchoolMint with a deadline to accept the offered spot, and a second deadline to submit registration paperwork for their student. The following paperwork for your student is required by the deadline given in your registration invitation:
- Registration packet (upload copies of court orders, IEPs etc., if applicable)
- Birth certificate, county record statement certifying birth, a passport, baptism certificate. (If none of these are available, an affidavit form a parent, guardian or custodian is also acceptable).
- Proof of residence (upload current utility bill, lease, etc., no cell phone bills)
- Immunization record (see California requirements below)
Families who are offered a spot but decline, do not accept the offer by the deadline, or accept the offer but then fail to register their student by the deadline, lose their spot and are taken off the placement list.
After an acceptance or registration deadline has expired, spots not filled are offered to the next eligible applicant/s on the waitlist by e-mail, or by phone if an e-mail address is not on file. This procedure repeats until all open spots are filled.
