Starting TODAY, we're introducing a change designed to make pick-up safer, smoother, and more convenient for the whole GICS community.
As in previous years, MYP dismissal will now take place at the valet gate, the same location used for Elementary School pick-up.
What's Changing:

MYP classes end at 3:10 PM, and MYP students will arrive at the valet gate at 3:15 PM.

Students will wait on the small grassy area near the gate and will be called forward by staff as their family arrives.

You have a few pick-up options, whichever works best for your family:

Park and meet your student at the gate

Join the valet line and have them called to your vehicle

If your student is walking home or being picked up from a different location, they need to let the GICS staff member at the gate know they are self-dismissing, and they can proceed to their designated pick-up spot. If your student is picked up from a different location, please fill out this self-dismissal form.

Notes for Families with Multiple Pick-Ups:

If you also have a Grade TK-2 Elementary School student to pick up, you will be asked to leave the valet line after picking them up and return at 3:15 PM. You will not be able to wait/park in the valet line.

If you have a Grade 3-5 student (or are picking up your younger student at the same time as your middle school student), please do not enter the valet line until 3:15 PM to avoid delays in the moving valet line. Your Elementary School student will be supervised in the pick-up area until you arrive.

If you don't have an Elementary School student, please plan to arrive no earlier than 3:15 PM.
We know pick-up routines take some getting used to, and we're grateful for your flexibility as we roll this out. This change reflects what we've heard from our community, and we're confident it will make dismissal safer and easier for everyone. As always, please don't hesitate to reach out with questions.
