1. Accepted to GICS? What's Next?

Congratulations on your offer! Goethe International Charter School (GICS) registration for the 2026-27 school year officially begins after our placement lottery on February 3, 2026. 
 
Registration is by invitation only. If your child was not waitlisted, you will receive an official invitation via SchoolMint to secure your spot.
 

2. Important: Deadlines Matter

You must complete both steps by the unique deadlines listed in your SchoolMint invitation. If you miss either deadline, your spot will be automatically forfeited and given to the next child on the waitlist:
  1. Accept your offered spot.
  2. Submit all required registration paperwork.

3. Registration Process

Following the annual placement lottery, all families who are not waitlisted will receive an invitation to register through SchoolMint. 

Critical Deadline Rule: You must meet two separate deadlines provided in your invitation.
Families who are offered a spot but decline, do not accept the offer by the deadline, or accept the offer but then fail to register their student by the deadline, lose their spot and are taken off the placement list.
 
Required Paperwork
You must upload the following documents to SchoolMint by your assigned deadline:
  • Registration Packet: Include copies of court orders or IEPs if applicable.
  • Proof of Birth: Provide a birth certificate, county birth record, passport, or baptism certificate. (A parent/guardian affidavit is acceptable from a parent, guardian or custodian is also acceptable if none of these are available).
  • Proof of Residence: Provide a current utility bill or lease agreement. (Cell phone bills are not accepted).
  • Immunization Record: Must meet California state school entry requirements.
 
4. Waitlist Procedures
  • Expired Spots: Unfilled spots are immediately offered to the next eligible applicant on the waitlist.
  • Notification: We will contact waitlisted families by email, or by phone if no email address is on file.
  • Cycle: This process repeats continuously until all open spots across all grades are filled.
