House Teams

House Teams at Goethe International Charter School (GICS) promote group loyalty, a sense of belonging, and school spirit. House Teams foster cross-age grouping from TK/K through 8th grade in order to continue to develop our school culture.

  • To foster a ‘family culture’ of caring, nurturing and support for each other.
  • To provide our older students an opportunity to be school leaders, decision makers and positive role models.
  • To provide an opportunity for our students to work with others across the school that they do not interact with in class or in the playground.
  • To create another opportunity for a sense of belonging.
 

House Captains work with Student Council Representatives to develop whole school initiatives in sports, debates, cultural events, academic activities, and charity drives.

House Competitions include organized sports at lunch recess for TK/K–2nd grade and 3rd–5th grades and non-physical activities such as the Baking Competition and Spelling Bee.
