The International Baccalaureate (IB) Framework
International Baccalaureate or IB: A rigorous integrated curriculum, this internationally recognized programme uses student-driven inquiry lessons to stimulate conceptual holistic learning. The aim of all IB programmes is to develop internationally minded people who, recognizing their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more peaceful world.

Our IB Pathways (TK - 8th Grade)
GICS is proud to be a fully authorized IB World School offering a continuous, high-quality international education from transitional kindergarten through middle school. We structure our program to meet the developmental needs of our diverse student body while maintaining a consistent focus on inquiry, creativity, and real-world connections.
Primary Years Programme (PYP)
- Grades: TK through 5th Grade
- Learning Approach: Students experience learning through a transdisciplinary, classroom-based approach where subjects are integrated to create meaningful, inquiry-driven units of study. This foundation builds strong academic habits while fostering a love of learning.
- Language Immersion: As part of our commitment to global citizenship and multilingualism, students in the Primary Years participate in German immersion.
- Timeline & Milestones: Adopted in 2009. Achieved full IB PYP World School status in 2014, with successful evaluation renewals completed in 2019 and 2023.
Middle Years Programme (MYP)
- Grades: 6th Grade through 8th Grade
- Learning Approach: Students transition into a more subject-specific model, engaging with individual disciplines such as language and literature, sciences, mathematics, and the arts through specialized classes.
- Language Options: Middle School students have the opportunity to continue their language journey by choosing either German or Spanish.
- Milestones: Officially authorized as an IB Middle Years Programme provider in 2026.
